The Bastimentos Island National Marine Park, located in the Bocas del Toro archipelago, occupies more than 13,000 hectares of land and sea. The Zapatillas Cays, part of the protected area, attract tourists with its turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and forest trail. In Zapatillas # 2 is the refuge of the Park Rangers.
